As the world migrates into the digital space, a lot of information has migrated online. This includes agricultural and environmental information. The transition is claimed to have benefits for the agricultural and environmental subsectors which largely supports the rural population of Zimbabwe. Literature however notes that, a majority of the rural population are yet to benefit from this migration given their poor internet connectivity, lack of smart phones, use of English language on most online information and digital/ICT illiteracy. Cyber security issues have also been flagged especially among these marginalised rural communities who are trying to enter the digital space without enough training. The Digital/ICT Literacy and Cyber Security (DLCS) Program offers cyber security trainings for marginalised communities and development of customised digital Apps in native languages operating offline to accommodate the majority of the rural population that is yet to benefit from this digital migration. Some of the Apps include:
- Rural nutrition awareness App (offline)
- Crop diseases detector App (offline)
- Beekeeping App (offline)
- Crop and livestock production App (offline)
